It’s all about team work
It’s all about team work – Printoff take on Print Search at football!
On a cold and dark typical Manchester evening, 11 brave men from various departments at Printoff with a helping hand from some friends and family took on the mighty Print Search in a well anticipated football match.
We were outnumbered and out aged but found an inner strength from our close office bonding to become not just 11 individuals but a TEAM. From the kick off Printoff dominated possession and bullied Print Search to take a deserved lead. We should have scored a couple more as chances went begging, with Print Search stunned and on the ropes. With the score line 1-0 to Printoff (it should’ve been four!), we started to tire and with only six minutes left until half time, Print Search started to click meaning Paul Keogh (Sales) and Alex Buck (New Media Director) in the heart of the Printoff defence were up against the ‘Ronaldo’ of Print Search(Joel Rimmer).
It wasn’t long before ‘Ronaldo’ equalised and took the lead for Print Search. By the 25th minute they had scored four goals 3 by Rimmer and was looking likely to be more, but for the feline agility of Gavin Cameron (Creative Director) in the Printoff nets. Then, something was said by Alex Buck to the Printoff Band of Brothers – even now we’re not sure what he said but we think it was “if you don’t Buck up (no pun intended) your ideas, no one gets paid at the end of the month”. This motivational speech kicked Printoff into another gear (first, not reverse) and they took command for the rest of the first half.
After half time and some much need water (and oxygen) it was one way traffic from Printoff. With chance after chance we finally got back into the game with a well taken goal from our ‘Tevez’; Print Search were rocked, but not out yet. Wave after wave of attacks from both Printoff flanks came as Mohsin Ditta (Sales) showed wizardry on the right that Harry Potter would be proud of. The mighty impressive Jody Creech (Digital Manager) on the left also upped the counters. Darrell McDonald (Finance Assistant) created most of the chances for Printoff with his vision and every time Print Search had a chance, Alex Buck was like a rock and snuffed out all they threw at us.
The game finished 4-2 to Print Search and hands were shaken, but looking into the eyes of the Print Search team they knew they had been in a true battle.
Revenge will be sweet in the return fixture!
